What is a moving cleaning – and what isn't it?
Moving cleaning is a thorough final clean that should leave the home in the same condition you would want it to be in when you move into a new one. It is not the same as regular home cleaning or deep cleaning, because the requirements from landlords, brokers and housing associations are significantly higher.

Kitchen – the room inspectors examine the most
The kitchen is the area that leads to the most complaints. The oven, fan filter and the back of the fridge and freezer almost always end up in the inspection report.
- Oven inside and out, including trays and racks
- Stovetop, knobs and back edge
- Fan with cleaned or replaced filter
- Fridge and freezer defrosted, drawers removed and cleaned. DIY tip: vacuum the back if you can safely pull the appliances out yourself. Sweepit does not pull appliances out
- All cabinets and drawers wiped inside and out
- Sink, faucet and drain polished
Bathroom, toilet and common areas
Limescale and grout are what brokers and landlords look at first. Expect floor drains, shower walls and the back of the toilet to be visibly clean.
- Toilet cleaned including the back and base
- Shower walls, tiles and grout descaled
- Floor drain emptied and wiped
- Washing machine: detergent drawer cleaned, door and rubber seal wiped
- Mirrors, faucets and handles polished
Windows, mouldings and hidden surfaces
Window cleaning is included in our moving cleaning on all sides of the panes where they can be reached safely, up to 3.5 metres. Blinds and exterior window ledges are not included. Window sills and the mouldings above the doors are often missed.

What almost everyone forgets
At inspection it is enough for a couple of the points below to be missing to get a complaint. Here are the most common ones:
- Radiators from the back
- On top of kitchen cabinets and wardrobes
- The inside of the front door and the threshold
- Letterbox, door handles and safety chain
- Sockets, switches and thermostats
- Storage areas such as basement storage and attic
