Deep cleaning before the holidays: complete checklist and timeline

A deep cleaning is the difference between a home that looks tidy and one that is actually clean. Here is our walk-through of what is included, when to book and how to plan the time.

What is the difference between deep cleaning and regular home cleaning?

The difference is in the depth and the surfaces that are taken. A deep cleaning includes steps like on top of cabinets, appliance exteriors, bathroom grout and washing mouldings. Interior cleaning of the oven, fridge and freezer is an add-on. Things you don't have time for in the recurring cleaning.

Our deep cleaning in Gothenburg normally takes between three and six hours for an apartment and a full working day for a house.

Checklist: what is included in a deep cleaning

    • Extractor and filter (excluding carbon filters)
    • Fridge and freezer cleaned outside
    • On top of cabinets, wardrobes and fridge
    • Bathroom grout descaled, floor drain emptied
    • Mouldings, door frames and doors washed
    • Radiators from the back and pipes
    • Window cleaning and interior oven, fridge and freezer cleaning are quoted as add-ons

Timeline: when should you book before a holiday?

Before Christmas and midsummer demand is high and we recommend booking your deep cleaning in Gothenburg at least three weeks before the holiday. For Easter and graduation celebrations two weeks is usually enough.

    • 3 weeks before: place the booking, we confirm time and price
    • 1 week before: make sure the fridge and freezer can be emptied if interior cleaning has been ordered as an add-on
    • Cleaning day: the home should be tidied so surfaces are free
    • After the clean: we walk through the result with you if you wish
